Invoice Ninja not sending email Print

So you installed Invoice Ninja using Softaculous in cpanel but when you try and send an invoice nothing is sent!

To fo fix this you need to manually edit the file called .env in the Invoice Ninja directory.

Look for the mail section and use values similar to this:

MAIL_MAILER=smtp
MAIL_HOST=smtp.gmail.com
MAIL_PORT=587
MAIL_USERNAME="your_email_address@gmail.com"
MAIL_PASSWORD="your_password_dont_forget_the_quotes!"
MAIL_ENCRYPTION=tls
MAIL_FROM_ADDRESS="your_email_address@gmail.com"
MAIL_FROM_NAME="Full Name With Double Quotes"

If you do not have a smtp account you can create a new mailbox in cpanel and use the email address and password you set up there. You can make this a custom email address to use just for smtp sending and call it someting like mysmtp@mydomainname.com (whatever your domain is)

After editing the .env file you need to clear the cache by running this command in the Invoice Ninja software root:

php artisan optimize
