So you want to host your website at computerjazz.net and build your own WordPress website from scratch.
Once your hosting account is actoive the next step is to install WordPress. If you know what you are doing you can do all of this yourself however if you need some help to install WordPress we are here to help!
There are several options for installing a fresh WordPress site with computerjazz.net
Option 1. Wordpress Manager by Softaculous
Install WordPress with a few clicks!
The Softaculous installer can not only install WordPress for you in less than 30 seconds but it also be used in the long term to manage updating your WordPress core software and plugins, to create backups and roll back your site should something go wrong.
To install WordPress using Softaculous simply log into the cpanel control panel via your computerjazz.net account (under Services - Manage - Actions - Log into cpanel) or login directly by visiting the link that we sent you in your hosting welcome email. Use the username and password we sent or grab these details from your account. You can also change the password there.
Once you are in cpanel - scroll down to the Wordpress Manager by Softaculous icon and go for it! Easy done!
Option 2. A stand alone WordPress install.
a. Create a MariaDB database in cpanel and create a user/pass which you will need when installing WordPress. (Look for the MySQL icon to do this)
b. Then download and unpack the latest WordPress installation package into public_html and start the installer!
We can do the first two steps for you and then send you the link so that you can finalise and tailor your new WordPress installation.
Option 3. A Vanilla Web install
We created our own custom WordPress installation routine which we use as a starting point for many sites that we build for our clients. Our Vanilla Web pakage includes security features, caching tools, minifying scripts, all with defaults that we think work very well, plus Yoast for SEO and various other plugins also all pre-configured. Vanilla Web also comes replete with dozens of colourful designed sites via GeneratePress that can be previewed and installed with just a few clicks.
Vanilla Web is a lean, secure, and easy to update long term WordPress installation base. It may or may not be for you because everyone does WordPress differently. A standard WordPress install via Softaculous or manual install might suit you better as per the two options above.
